Confessions of a Shopaholic – The movie!
Sophie Kinsella’s best seller books land on the big screen with the story of Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher), a young red haired addicted-to-fashion single girl who lives with her best friend Suze (Krysten Ritter) in Manhattan.
Becky has a very boring job in a plants magazine and dreams about a job in THE fashion mag of all times. She arrives for a job interview and ends up getting a job in another very boring financial magazine (after a hilarious letter drunk-mix-up), where she meets the amazing, young and talented Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy): her boss.
Mixing up scenes from the books “Confessions of a Shopaholic” and “Shopaholic takes Manhattan”, director P.J. Hogan creates a funny Rebecca who will have to struggle between her addiction to shopping, her desire to get the dreamed job, her best friend’s wedding and Luke Brandon.
British actor Hugh Dancy portrays a very sexy Luke, who falls madly in love with the adorable Becky. Isla Fisher in another creative and witty character, which she herself admits adding some of her own personality to.
This light-hearted film is very recommended for both trendy and romantic girls, and their companions.
The cast is completed with Joan Cusack and John Goodman.
Confessions of a shopaholic – written by Tracey Jackson, Tim Firth and Kayla Alpert, based on the books from Sophie Kinsella.
